Fantastic photograph! My flower garden still doesn't have any signs of autumn. Happy autumn to you!

Rob, Yes, summer is gone and I haven't completed my summer projects!

Mother Nature, Tina, Jan and Janet, I wish I had aspen here but they grow a little higher up. The 90 minute drive to Lake Tahoe takes us through a national forest and then past a meadow full of aspen. The photo is not mine, but spoke to me.

Tatyana, Only sign of fall here is the changing light. It's in the 90s this week and we are on alert for forest fires.

Hi DP - I tried to find anything by Diane Benson or Henry Mitchell at our local library and struck out. Maybe I'll invest in their books when I stop spending my entire budget on plants and manure (just brought home 10 more bags this week, yummy).

Susie, So glad you like the photo!

VW, Maybe they can get them on interlibrary loan? Auntie's in downtown Spokane might have used copies. In the meantime, when you are done spreading that manure in your garden (and wow do you get GREAT results!) check out my blog sidebar for 1) the Examiner.com interviews I did with Dianne B, and 2) read her new blog "Dirtier" in the Midwestern and Northern garden blog section.

Rebecca, I love it for the turning leaves and light of the equinox. Not my work, not by a long shot (ouch, bad pun) but by a photographer who offered it up.
